Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people 65 or older, certain younger people with disabilities, and those with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). Original Medicare includes: Part A – Basic hospital coverage, Part B – Medical Services (optional), Part C – Medicare Advantage (optional), Part D – Prescription drug plan (optional), and Medicare Supplement (optional). Just a heads up, you may face “Late Enrollment Penalties” if you don’t sign up when you’re first eligible.
